Puerto Rico, USA -› -› …
As a newbie boricua, I will try to describe this island from new eyes and give some helpful tips. First of all, one of my reasons for moving here was to learn Spanish. Unfortunately (or fortunately), most locals especially in the metropolitan area speaks English. If you find yourself in the s…

Today is our last day and I want to hike down the beach. My friend Lisa and I made this hike (in the rain) when I was here a few years ago, and I liked the undeveloped ruggedness of the beach and trail. Steve and I are lucky to have a sunshine escort, and the walk is just as nice as I remember. Alo…

There are no direct flights to St Thomas from Connecticut, so we had to spend about an hour in Puerto Rico, enough time for us to have lunch at the Domino's Pizza in the San Juan Airport. The pizza was expensive, but good! We spent our layover calling and texting friends to alert …

We went to Naguabo, a town in the eastern part of the island for lunch and relaxation. We found a restaurant called Punta Lima, close to the beach. It specializes in sea food, so we ordered conch salad (ensalada de carrucho), shrimp gumbo (asopao de camarones) with mofongo, and mofongo with octopus…

As a somewhat inexperienced traveler, I don't have a huge amount to write about here. However, I thought I'd share a few of the photos I took on my summer cruise to San Juan, St. Thomas, Tortola, and Grand Turk, many of which came out very pretty if I do say so myself! Hope you enjoy! ;-)

Even though there are no waves or hardly any at this beach it's still one of my favorites on this island. You can actually swim out far without having to fear not being able to get back. Like every other beach that I went to there was hardly anyone there. Except the life guards. haha The water is w…

My boyfriend and I took a fantastic trip to Puerto Rico this spring break. We flew into the southern part of PR and rented a car from there. We drove to the north-eastern part of the island and hiked in the jungle, El Yunque, then beach-hopped all down the west coast of the island. It's an amazingly beautiful place!
