I would really recommend to visit the underground river because it is simply breathtaking and very beautiful. It might be a bit far from the city proper but it will be really worth it. Also, there is an environmental fee so you can ask assistance from your guide. You will experience darkness and silence. There are many bats and you will be amazed by the stunning formations.

It will take 2-3 hours from the city proper to the underground river pier. After, you will take a boat going to the site. You will walk for 5 mins before you will reach the river near the entrance of the cave. There are guides there that would lend you life vest and assist you in getting to the banca (small boat). A banca can occupy 12 persons. You can volunteer to sit in the front and bring the flashlight(the guide will instruct as to where to point the light so that you can see the formations).

It was a very memorable experience.
