Today we visited Peninsula Valdes National Park, a short trip in a small group but taking up a whole day. The main attraction is the wildlife, and we were given our money´s worth in what we saw. Two guides, one translating the other one´s Spanish into English, gave us a blow-by-blow description o…

If you have the time I would 100% recommend going to visit Puerto Madryn. The town doesnt have much to offer in terms of tourists, but it has a good feel to it. Very calm and relaxing. The reason you go to visit Puerto Madryn though is to see the wildlife.
Im visiting in Winter so there aren´t an…

We arrived from Bariloche to a very different sort of a town. Puerto Madryn was the place that settlers from Wales decided to head to from their homeland. Our first impressions were that it is a very tidy, pretty and clean place and again, it was very different to what you might perceive a Lat…

The Joyurney here almost deserves its
own entry. If blogged, it would have been called 'Ode to an
Argentinian Bus'. On second thought, considering I slept nine hours
straight on such a bus, perhaps a Sonet or a new Psalm is in order,
if there's still room in scripture. For those uninitiated…

Puerto Madryn & peninsula Veldez
After yet a other long trip on the bus form Ushuaia (about 30.hr) we finally managed to get to Puerto Madryn.
It is a rather small city laid out in a bay with little “vegetation” around.
I must say the drive or scenery getting to Puerto Mont is rather “…

I arrived in Puerto Madryn hoping for a National Geographic wet dream moment involving flippers, teeth, blood and blubber. I am of course talking about a killer whale taking a sea lion from the beach, tossing it in the air and then munching it down with the same greedy …

Prior to this trip, the longest I'd ever spent on a bus was 22ish hours on our sixth form "cultural visit" to Venice - a sleepless and uncomfortable journey which has also rendered me unable to ever watch Love Actually again (shame...)Thankfully buses, even the 20 hour variety, are much nicer in Ar…

After an 18-hour overnight bus journey from Buenos, we arrived in the seaside town of Puerto Madryn. We found out about a campsite 5km out of town and hopped on the local bus to the nearest stop. When I say hopped on the bus I mean struggled under the weight and size of our packs up the steps of th…

Stayed in a savage hostel in Puerto Madryn called the Hi Patagonia. The staff were a great help and even helped us organise our last minute bus ticket (how were we supposed to know you needed to book these things). We did two tours, the first to the Valdes Penisula. We went whale watching and were …

It's about Argentina, started in Buenos Aires, then Peninsulda Valdes, El Calafate, Torres del Paine in Chili. Then we went to the most southern city of the world, Ushuaia. Our last stop was a visit to the spectacular Iguazu falls at the border of Argentina and Brasil.
