Puente Diablo Reviews
Mighty Roman aqueduct Sep 22, 2000
If you have heard of just one Roman aqueduct in Spain, it will probably be that of Segovia; if of two, this one will be the second. Great as the Segovia aqueduct undoubtedly is, I prefer this one because it is in a rural setting just outside Tarragona and, out of season, I had it completely to myself!
To reach it you need to take a number 2 from Tarragona and ask the driver to point out the stop - it's a circular route so you get on the same side as you get off, when you return.
I think you would need to be in the air to see all its 128 arches at once but you will see enough to enchant you.
Sometimes it enjoys the longer and more likely sounding name of El Puente del Diablo or its equivalent in Catalan. What the devil did it have to do with the devil?
