Everybody knows, public transport in Switzerland is expensive, no matter whether train or bus or boat. If you need the public transport regularly it can cost a lot of money. For a (longer) stay in Switzerland there are different possibilities to save money:

--- Swiss Pass ---

With the Swiss Pass you can use the train, bus and boat for a certain time. It includes free admission in about 450 museums.

You can buy cards for 4 days up to 1 month. The price depends on the length, the class, number of persons (it's cheaper with two persons or more) and the age (it's cheaper for people under 26 years old).

--- Swiss Flexi Pass ---

Actually it's the same like the Swiss Pass but you can choose certain days within a month (three to six days).

--- Swiss Card ---

With this card the transfer is free from the border or the airport to your destination. It's available for maximum one month. Between your outward and return journey you can drive for half price with the Swiss public transport. Price: 182 SFR (2nd class), 255 SFR (first class)

--- Swiss Transfer Ticket ---

With this ticket the transfer is free from the border or the airport to your destination. Price: 127 SFR (2nd class), 192 SFR (first class)

--- Swiss Half Fare Card ---

With the Swiss Half Fare Card you can travel for a month for the half price. Price: 99 SFR

For more informations it's the best to check the web page of the Swiss Train Company ( If you plan a longer stay in Switzerland (more than 1 month) check this web page: or ask the employees at the train station. There are different offers that help you to travel cheaper.
