Przemyśl Vacation Guide

Przemyśl is one of the oldest and most beautiful towns in Poland. Located at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains, very close to the Ukranian border, its monuments, churches, winding streets and ancient buildings are captivating. First founded in the 8th century, it became part of the kingdom of Poland in the second half of the 13th century. It prospered and was an important trade center during the Renaissance.
Przemyśl is known as the capital of bells and pipes, and the works of local craftsmen are displayed in the Museum of Bells and Pipes located in the Clock Tower. Not to be missed is the Przemyśl Fortress, one of the most important fortifications in Europe. In addition to it's historical monuments and museums, the city offers a number of outdoor activities such as downhill and cross-country skiing, horseback riding, canoeing, hiking and cycling. A number of rural tourism options are also available in the area.
