I took the train from Antwerp over to Gent.  I thought of all the cities I visited in Belgium, I liked Gent the best.  I just loved the feel of it.  It too was on the water, and there were boat tours that I did not get to do.  However, the buildings just inspired me here the most.  There was even a castle that I spent some time in, and it cost me like a euro.  It was a great place to wind down my last day of travel.  Check out the pics!

Este viaje fue planeado durante largos años hasta que finalmente llegó el momento. Nuestro viaje se inicia en mi ciudad favorita: Paris. Hicimos un pequeño periplo por Paises Bajos y Bélgica con unos entrañables amigos y finalmente nos acoplamos a un tour por Italia, el sur de Francia y España. Da ich am Vortag ja genug geschlafen hatte, startete ich in Brüssel um einiges früher als auf den letzten Etappen und war am späten Nachmittag an meinem Etappenziel in Gent angelangt. November 4 We reached the hitch-hiking spot in Antwerp and manage to find a lift with a restaurant owner who was loaded with cheese. I've heard Gent, Belgium is very nice, so am scheduling two nights here.  We'll potentially do a quick day trip to Brussels before flying home from there.

In Gent, we stayed with friends of my family.  Luc and Mi were very gracious in accepting us into their home.  Both there daughters spoke English, although at times they were shy to do so.  Gent was a beautiful city that I hope to return to one day, and again I was extremely fond of the people I met.
