After getting our stuff out of the room Mandy and I were ready to go back home. Downstairs we ran into Ante and Jeff wich was great so we could say goodbye properly then. They still had another day in Amsterdam left so that was nice! Yesterday (26-01-2008) we had a great Meetup in Amsterdam! But first I had to get there. I left home at 9.00 am and after a 1,5 hour trip by train, talking with some old granny's all the way, I reached Amsterdam! This was my first experience with this national holiday for Holland and I can honestly say that I will travel back again sometime in the future. Despite the fact that the city came vibrantly alive during these two days, this particular experience was made that much more pleasurable because of the people I had the opportunity to celebrate with. 

I think it would be the best to start from my last memory of the meetup in Amsterdam. I find it that Hanif Kureishi says it best in Intimacy when he opens with It is the saddest night, for I am leaving and not coming back.
