The draw of Iguazu proved too strong to resist  - we arrived in Posadas intending to use it as a leg stretch and fresh air destination between Rosario and Puerto Iguazu but managed only 25 minutes before re-boarding the bus to Iguazu! It´s getting warmer

Iguazu Falls

ANDREI - Crikey!  I finally did the decent thing and proposed to Kerry (and she accepted!).  I did the deed above one of the parts of waterfalls (Salta Bossetti) on the Argentinian side, a little cheesy but beautiful (just like my future wife!).  I feared I wouldn´t get the chance as there were sometimes too many other tourists around (older Japanese ones, especially!). We celebrated at the Sheraton Iguazu with 2 bottles of champagne shared with our Scottish travelling friend...

Iguazu Falls

On Saturday the 14th some of the other BC students and I decided to take a trip to Iguazu Falls - along with Victoria Falls in South Africa, the most spectacular waterfalls in the world - since we had some time before any of us actually had to do anything in Buenos Aires. The 18-hour bus ride was well worth it.

I was in the midst of a grand affair with Buenos Aires. This trip was my my 5th time visiting the city in 1 year. I know, it is bit obsessive, but when you are in love with a place you do not always think clearly. I also traveled to Iguazu Falls (my 1st solo trip!) and took Spanish classes.

Diary of a 23 Hour Bus Ride

3.00pm - Get on Bus, set up camp with wine bottles and daypack safely stowed at my feet. 3.01pm - Meet Julian the German, who will be sitting next to me for 19 of the next 23 hours. He looks like the 10 year old bastard child of Boris Becker. With a wispy beard. 3.15pm - Tire of talking to Julian the German. Put on earphones and listen to Radiohead instead. Contemplate the many, many hours that lie ahead. Feel a little down. 5.00pm - A terrible, terrible Ameri...

to the argentinian side of the falls i got in a tiny group organised by the hostel (we bought all the tickets in the hostel and saved a bit of money that way!), we had a very cool driver and were packed in one of those old vw buses, you see everywhere in brasil! there wasen't even a long jam on the boarder, you basicly just cross a bridge and there you are! before we went to the falls he took us to a place where all the 3 countries touch eachother, it was a very touristic point, like th...

Amazing!

We arrived yesterday and just milled around the town. Its quite quiet here and very hot and humid. Annoying little children asking for money all the time (in English), felt like slapping them and their good clean clothes! Its not like these kids were worse off like those we saw in Buenos Aires! The bus ride wasnt too bad either from BA to here, we nearly didnt make it though, no one told us that Argentina put their clocks forward one hour on the 30th so we were late to our bus and another bus...

This is going to be substantial. What a weekend. The ISA group (all 30 of us or so) loaded up on a bus and headed for Puerto Iguazu Thursday evening. This bus ride was the most luxurious bus ride of my life. We basically had lazyboy seats to ourselves and were fed a full course meal. The 12 hour ride didn´t seem so bad under these circumstances. I definitely recommend travelling by bus in Argentina. I will definitely do it again. We arrived at Misiones Jesvitico Gvaranies ea...

It's about Argentina, started in Buenos Aires, then Peninsulda Valdes, El Calafate, Torres del Paine in Chili. Then we went to the most southern city of the world, Ushuaia. Our last stop was a visit to the spectacular Iguazu falls at the border of Argentina and Brasil.
