From Borbon we moved inland to the village of Selva Allegre, riding on the roof of a truck/bus hybrid thing. I kind of enjoyed it, it"s always vaunted as a very authentic traveller kind of thing to do. Equador-is one of the best places to go to. Even after i promised to myself not to go to the same place twice...unless i've been everywhere, i would deffinetly go back there if i had a chance.

Dave and I are in at the deep end and way out of our depth, but it makes it all the more rewarding when a plan comes together.We spent the morning looking around Ibarra (biggest Ecuador city north of Quito at 125000) which was pleasant but unspectacular.  However as it was only a stop over en route to Borbon so maybe we didnĀ“t do it justice.  The 4 hour journey to San Lorenzo was all downhill moving from the 3000m Quito in the mountains down through the climate changes into more tr...

Atacames, is located on the Pacific Coast, just south of Esmeraldas. A nice place to rest and relax after all these efforts!
