From Borbon we moved inland to the village of Selva Allegre, riding on the roof of a truck/bus hybrid thing. I kind of enjoyed it, it"s always vaunted as a very authentic traveller kind of thing to do. Equador-is one of the best places to go to. Even after i promised to myself not to go to the same place twice...unless i've been everywhere, i would deffinetly go back there if i had a chance.

Dave and I are in at the deep end and way out of our depth, but it makes it all the more rewarding when a plan comes together.We spent the morning looking around Ibarra (biggest Ecuador city north of Quito at 125000) which was pleasant but unspectacular. However as it was only a stop over en route to Borbon so maybe we didn“t do it justice. Atacames, is located on the Pacific Coast, just south of Esmeraldas. A nice place to rest and relax after all these efforts!
