This was a beautiful place to watch the sun set. table mountain was stunning as the city sat below it. The sand was clean, but the water was very cold. June 3rd I had heard rumors that Cape Town was beautiful, however, I have had the good fortune of traveling around a lot of the world and I have yet to see a more beautiful city. Our last bit of sightseeing.  Today we set out on a trip to Cape Point, that in the summer would be fantastic, but we unfortunately didn't pick the right day for it. In January this year (2007) I was finally able to pack my bags and head for Africa. I spend 6 wonderful weeks down there together with an american friend. South Africa have so much: great people, beautiful nature, wildlife, interesting history, interesting culture.. and the list goes on.

For about 3 consecutive years, I visited South Africa and only stopped in Johannesburg, however my luck changed when my boyfriend of 3 years Don, decided we needed some quality time and booked a 10 days trip to Cape Town in 2002. Monday 27th February Today we went to Robben Island at 1pm, which took about 30 mins to get to. Upon arrival we boarded a tour bus and went around the island, learning about the political struggles for black people pre-1990. The island had four prisons and we were told about numerous jail break attempts. The bus tour also showed us the leper colony that was once on the island. I can't believe I've only been here a few days. I already feel like I have seen so much. After another great night sleep we get up quickened at 6.45 am and everybody is on the bus at 8.30. Today we go to the ostrich capital of the world: Oudtshoorn. During this 210 kilometre trip, we drive through an alternating landscape. From shoreline to mountain pass. I love this country!
