A province about 2 hours north of Madrid on the ALSA bus from Avenida de America bus station. Soria city is the capital with lots of bars and typical terraza style nightlife especially in spring/summer months. Famous San Juan fiestas end of June / start of July.

Lots of pretty little pueblos (villages) like Calatañazor, el Burgo de Osma, Berlanga de Duero and San Esteban de Gormaz, and tourist sites in the surrounding area, including Picos de Urbion (Urbion peaks), Cañon del Rio Lobos (Wolf River Canyon) and la Laguna Negra (black lagoon).

Well worth a visit to some of these places on the way up to the north of Spain, as it's often not featured much in tourist guides but really is a beutiful, different region to visit.

the train ride took like FOREVER! tracy and me looked at each other and rolled our eyes lol but it was worth it though, driving through the scenic sierra de guadarrama mountain range and into segovia…Soria  to the east. The altitude of the province varies from 750 meters in the extreme northwest to a maximum…
