Woke up at 3AM. Took a shower (you heard it right), packed my stuff and left for the airport at 4:30. I resolved to take only a few clothes with me, since I won't be needing much anyway. All my stuff fit inside my bag so I could carry it with me all the time. I wanted a window seat so I made sure to come to the airport early. Ati-Atihan Festival (Kalibo, Aklan, January 14-20, 2008)
Known to be the wildest Philippine Festival, it is also named as the "Filipino Mardi Gras" one shouldn't miss. Hey hey, and welcome to another episode of my life!!! We are having an absolutely incredible time. Words cannot describe some of the beautiful and amazing things that we have been able to see and do here, the Philippines has so much to offer… On Thursday we flew into Cebu, as usual we hadn't booked ahead, so when we arrived in Cebu City we just got in a cab and drove around til we found somewhere. Typhoon Frank last June 21, was one, if not the worst storm to hit the Western Visayas region in the Philippines. Of the Visayan islands, Panay garnered the biggest damage in terms of infrastructure and mortalities. I having lived in Iloilo City all my life have personally never experienced a calamity of such scale.
