The fine city of Namur
posted by:

When I started my trip in Belgium today I had actually no goal. I just wanted to get out of a rainy Brussels, and I had an idea that I should go south. One of my friends always drives around in the area of Namur, and he had told me about the beauty of the region. The way down there was very rainy and for the first time in a long time I was driving slowly just enjoying the music on the radio. On my way south I decided that I wanted to follow the Meuse as long as I found it funny considering ...

Beatrix - Dinant
posted by:
Aug 13, 2007 - Aug 16, 2007
Day 18: Beatrix - Dinant 83 kms   During this day we cycled from Beatrix to Dinant, both cities in Belgium. We were still in the Ardennes, so there were still hills to climb. Just like the day after Cluny we cycled on an old railroad. At a certain moment we were a bit lost and luckily an old and grey Belgian man in an enormous red Jaguar driving by that moment. He saw that we were lost and asked if we could use his help. It was a strange guy and he looked like a guy who wanted to m...

spring time
posted by:
Mar 01, 2006 - Nov 01, 2006
I have had a fairly quiet month so there was not much to tell. Spring is finally here and it is great to see the change of season. It went from below freezing to 18° in a couple of days, that was quite a shock to all as it is usually a much more gradual change. Jade victoire and I wet outside with our tshirts it was fantastic! Now the tempurature is back to normal with temps about 10°. All the daffodils, daisy and other flowers are popping up all over the place it is very pretty, tree...

In 1994 my father and I wanted to make a cycling trip to Lourdes. We were followed by a mini-van with all our luggage driven by a family friend. I'm really sorry I don't have any pic for this moment, hope to fix something later!

Vresse sur Semois
posted by:
Sep 19, 1987 - Sep 27, 1987

Short Camping in the Ardennes
posted by:

May 2We arrived in Jemelle train station, obviously there was no bus again and we definitely didn't know anything of the area. We simply lift our thumb at the first car passing by while we were at the bus stop at the train station and the car stopped. We asked about Rochefort, and the guy gladly offered to bring us there. It was about 6km away.We tried to locate the camping of Rochefort, which look more partly like a construction site and partly like a mobile home parking. The driver went to ...

Day 1: Beer truck festival in Romedenne
posted by:
Jul 08, 2007 - Sep 19, 2007
This all started when I decided to go for the beer truck festival in Romedenne. Since I was heading off to Wallonia, I decided to see as many places as possible. So after a bit of googling I came up with the Falaen, Soulme, Crupet and Celles. These villages are amongst the most beautiful villages in Wallonia. Trains from Leuven run only till Dinant. After that it is biking, driving, walking or hitchhiking to your destination. I decided to bike and took my cycle along. My plans were to cover F...
