A Hidden Gem ! Dec 27, 2012
You may walk right past it and never realise it ! The Promenade Plantee (PP) is a must see or rather a must do walk if you are in paris. Its a walk way that streches for more than 2 km over the TOPS OF BUILDINGS! YES OVER THE TOPS OF BUILDINGS!!!! it just keeps going , going and going. Take a start from a either end and do the complete walk way. Its actually hidden from many tourists as the locals enjoy it for their recreational activities. The changing landscape form shrubs to bushes to flowers to trees , the PP has got it all. Try to go in the evening if you are traveling during the summer to avoid the sun, a definite location for an evening stroll. You wont realise this wonder until you have walked for about 1 km. and then look around. Below you are shops , stores, homes etc you name it they have a garden on their head to create this wonderful piece of landscape.

A Park in the Paris Sky Mar 10, 2010
It may look like an overhead railroad crossing, but four floors above the streets of Paris, Promenade Plantee is a hidden treat.

The world's first elevated park, Promenade Plantee is a fantastic collection of plants, set along a nearly three mile trail. The views of Paris are completely different from above street level, as beautiful Art Deco buildings rise above the trail, some close enough to touch.

The park is filled with joggers, artists, couples and families, all enjoying the quiet, serene gardens, while birds chirp in the trees. The plants and archways are all manicured and primped, and I was sorry not to see the park in the spring in bloom. Benches are everywhere to relax and enjoy the view. I could have spent hours here.

Below the park is the Viaduc des Arts, which is comprised of several craft shops, including embroidery, knitting and furniture makers.

While Promenade Plantee is in the 12th arrondissement (district) and a little out of the way, I think this park is a must see for any visitor to Paris. The views are unique and best of all, the park is free!

Day 5: Catacombs, Promenade Plantee, Piere Lachaise Graveyard, and no opera :*(
I suppose this day was a bit morbid. A mass grave, then a massive graveyard, right? It turned out to be a good idea though: Paris was ridiculously hot, and the coolness of the catacombs was welcome, …Paris was ridiculously hot, and the coolness of the catacombs was welcome, as was the shade of the graveyard. The Catacombs were absolutely excellently scary and weird and awesome…
