Princess Trails Udaipur Reviews
Horseback Riding through the foothills of the Aravalli Mountains Jan 26, 2009
I went on a horseback ride with Princess Trails last month. They organize shorter rides starting from 2 hours, day rides and overnight safaris up to 14 days.
The rides start from the Princess Trails Farm, situated about 8 km away from the city center. On their farm, they have around 10 horses including some foals, all of them Marwari horses, well-cared for and well fed.
All horses are trained in English style, obedient and comfortable.
It is obvious, that Virendra Singh, the owner cares very well for them.
The rides go out in the countryside where I got a good idea about rural Rajasthan, something I had not before. I met villagers, saw the cultivation of the land and was able to learn something about the hill tribes living around here.
We also rode through wilder hillcountry where we were able to spot different birds and saw a snake.
Virendra has horses for both beginner and experienced riders. He gives you an introduction about every horse first and tries to find a matching one for each rider.
All the horses have fitting saddle tack which is in a good condition.
The horses are healthy and have fields to run and graze if there are not riders. They are not tied up all day long as with other operators I have seen.
