Prince Frederick Overview

The county seat of Calvert County since the 1700's, Prince Frederick is actually not the largest incorporated town in the county (it's not even an incorporated town!). Although old, it has few historical buildings on its main roads; fire destroyed many of the buildings in the 1800's.
Prince Frederick holds the county courthouse and a modern library. The only hospital in the county is on the edge of the developed area.
Until a few years ago, Prince Frederick also boasted the only Wal-Mart in the county. The restaurants and hotels include national chains such as Applebee's and Holidy Inn.
