Prince Conti Hotel New Orleans Reviews
Nice and affordable French Quarter hotel Feb 24, 2010
Prince Conti Hotel is right on Conti Street, just a half block from Bourbon Street. This puts you right in the heart of the French Quarter. It's part of the Valentino French Quarter Hotel chain, which in my experience is a nice group of hotels in New Orleans. Prices during the week that don't coincide with festivals, holidays, or Saints' home games are very affordable. I stayed on Wednesday and Thursday nights and payed just $50/night. For this location and the quality of the room, this is a great bargain. Weekends are more expensive, and those special instances mentioned above may double prices. Mardi Gras prices are always much higher.
The room was comfortable, and was built in the traditional Quarter style. The bathroom is large, clean, and well lit. The only drawback, really, was a lack of small refrigerator in the room. Otherwise it was a solid room.
Like most decent hotels in the Quarter, Prince Conti does offer parking, but the overnight parking prices are very high ($25-30/night). I would recommend keeping your vehicle in a nearby parking garage. You can usually find one within a 5 minute walk.
Prince Conti Hotel also features a swanky martini/jazz bar called the Bombay Club. It seemed a little too classy for me, so I didn't partake, but if that's your bag it's a good looking joint. If you're like me, there's a nice Irish pub across the street where real live locals drink, called the Erin Rose. It has normal drink prices.
