Great Hostel In A Great City May 20, 2010
Nestled nicely in a quiet area just a stones throw from the Nyugati train station, Prima Hostel is also ideally located for access to the sights of Budapest. However, we arrived into Budapest at the Keleti train station which is a lengthy walk away from the hostel, so be aware of this.

The hostel shares an apartment block with several other residences and we were instructed early on to respect the neighbours. The hostel owner, a friendly young man, also notified us that the noise would have to be kept to a minimum after 9pm. First impressions were good, as the hostel was clean and had a sizeable social area with sofas and a computer. We would end up meeting a good few travellers here.

Our room, an 8 bed dorm, was also clean and airy, which was a godsend due to the baking heat of summer. There was plenty of space despite the room being at fully capacity, and never got stuffy. The showering facilities were excellent, although maybe one more shower would be optimal. There were plenty of amenities for backpackers, such as a washing machine, washing line, internet enabled computer and a kitchen with all the common appliances.

The staff were really friendly and eager to help us with any questions we had about the city. They recommended a few pubs for us to try out and suggested we hit the club on Margaret Island, which turned out to be excellent.

So, a really solid hostel that I would recommend, especially for backpackers who want the chance to have a drink with fellow travellers.
