Prestwick Vacation Guide
Prestwick is a town in Ayrshire, South West Scotland. It hosted the first ever Open Championship golf tournament and is most also known as the only place in the UK ever visited by Elvis Presley.
Prestwick has 3 golf courses. The best known, Prestwick old course played host to the first 12 Open Championships from 1860 to 1872. St Nicholas and St Cuthberts are the other two.
Prestick Airport is used by budget airlines,like Ryanair and Wizz, as a destination for Glasgow. In reality it is about 35 miles south of Glasgow,3 miles from Ayr, and takes about an hour on the bus to the city centre. There is a train station attached to it,by covered walkway from one end of the terminal,which is on the Glasgow to Ayr route,and there are two trains an hour in each direction.
Usually private bus operators run services to connect with arrivals, and the last flight to arrive into Prestwick is normally about 11pm and even then buses operate up to Glasgow and the onto Edinburgh
