This restaurant is located in the presidio and is a little hard to find (especially at night). but once you find it, the place has a nice old time feel about it. the presidio social club is a renovated military barracks (at least it looks like it).

the service is nice -- not overly friendly but not snobby either. we were seated fairly quickly.

i had no intent on ordering the butter lettuce with pear salad but after tasting my friend's, i decided to have it. it was delicious. the dressing was not overpowering and the lettuce was very fresh.

i had the pork chop for dinner and it was ok. i did like the sauteed spinach, which i chose as a side dish. the spinach did not leave that film that one normally gets when eating spinach.

we shared a mac and cheese side, which was average.

i was not pleased with my mojito. it was too tart.

overall, the meal was not memorable but not terrible either.
