Premium Outlets at Wrentham Reviews
Aug 01, 2006
If you're travelling to the Boston area and are renting a car, I cannot recommend highly enough that you take a trip out to the Premium Outlets at Wrentham. Think of it as an easy to manage, large scale, organized version of Filene's Basement! Most of the major brand names are here, everyone from Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger, Coach and DKNY, Nike and Adidas, Vileroy & Boch and The Bed & Bath Store, Guess and Juicy Couture, and plenty more!
On an average day you'll find huge savings at Wrentham, particularly if you're from Europe or the UK, as the currency conversion converts to even bigger savings! But if you're lucky enough to take a trip there on a sale weekend or during the tax free weekend, you're in for a treat of bargains! To give you an idea of the savings (for someone from Ireland), here's some things I/my girlfriend bought in Wrentham and their equivalent Irish retail prices:
DC skateboard sneakers: Retail: 80 EURO, Wrentham price: $12
Tommy/Ralph Lauren Polo Shirts: Retail: 60 EURO, Wrentham price: $25
Coach bag: Retail: 400 EURO, Wrentham price: $260
Guess bag: Retail: 160 EURO, Wrentham price: $65
Ireland is expensive compared to most places, but these prices won't vary too majorly between EU countries. UK visitors stand to save even more because of the strength of the Pound Sterling!
Getting to Wrentham is easy enough, just take the I-95 South to the I-495 North, and take the exit for Premium Outlets Blvd (Exit 15). Don't make the mistake of taking exits for Route 1 (Wrentham). If you do go wrong, most gas stations have good directions posted on their windows around the Wrentham area. On a quiet day, getting to Wrentham should take about 40 minutes. If there's a sale on you might be waiting up to two hours to even get into the car park. Also be prepared to wait when you're leaving, especially around closing time! If there's a Patriots game on, don't even bother going, as the traffic from Foxboro can adversely affect the traffic in Wrentham (at least it did for me before!)
There is a Ruby Tuesday's, Friendly's and several fast food restaurants in the main Outlets area.
Send me a message if you want more information about Wrentham, I'll be happy to give advice! And don't forget to take the tags off your purchases before you fly ;)
