Prawita Cottage Kuta Reviews
Prawita Cottage Bali Feb 28, 2013
I come across this cottage when I stay at Aquarius Hotel in Bali which is located opposite this hotel and was looking for a restaurant. This hotel has a reasonable big restaurant at the main street, in front of the main building of the hotel itself. After finished lunch, I just come up to the reception area to check if they have room available for the next day, and to find out the price of the room and what is included. It seems the hotel is reasonable quite and not many guests staying there during that time. It cost Rp.250,000 for two people per night including breakfast (the price were in October 2010).
The hotel building is three storey high with balcony and plants hanging from it, and traditional Balinese carving on the wall, door and plenty of greenery along the footpath and small little garden in front of the building and swimming pool. The adult pool is quite big in the middle of the building with lazy chairs surrounding it for hotel guest to relax, and next to it is a child pool which is waist deep only.
The room decorated with traditional Balinese décor and quite spacious with comfortable twin bed facing the pool with a balcony, fully working air condition (which you need in the heat of Bali weather), old television (not sure if it is working or not as I did not try it), basic bathroom with bathtub and toiletries provided free and good pressure of hot and cold water. When I first enter the room, I don’t feel quite safe as it is really old building and everything looks and feel old and quite spooky; however, after looking around the room, it is okay. The cleaner clean and change the towel on daily basis. The room is quite even though location of the hotel is right at the busy street of Legian, and I could not hear any traffic noise or the pub music in this hotel, so I can have a good night sleep.
Breakfast serve at the front restaurant near the lobby area facing the street on separate building. It is very simple breakfast consists of toast, fried or scrambles eggs, fruits, tea or coffee. The service is good and the staffs are friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant open for lunch and dinner and serve reasonable good food at fair price compare with other restaurants. It is mostly Chinese food but also serve western food.
The pool is free for hotel guest to use, unfortunately no pool towel nearby and we need to use our room towel and ask for a new towel from the reception. The replacement towel is free and we can get more towel then we need.
I like the peaceful and beautiful garden with small pond along the walkway to the main building and it is a little oasis in busy legian area. It takes around ten minutes walk to Legian beach and along the street plenty of souvenirs shops, restaurants, cafe, and bar.
