Pr' Povšin Bled Reviews
Rural but yet close to Bled Sep 06, 2013
Tourist farm Povsin (turisticna kmetija Pr" Povsin) is situated about 1 mile south of lake Bled in a hamlet called Selo (see entry).
The farm owner (mr. Povsin?) obviously had a commercial eye by building a brand new building (2007) on his land offering more that 10 appartments. Unluckily he built it right beside the original farm house, so he created a great view from the balcony of our appartment: sitting on the balcony we could almost touch the tyles of the farm house... A big minus!
The farm seems to be suitable for children. There's a playground, some mini tractors (one broken), and a little sandy corner. However, your offspring will be disappointed if they like small animals. No rabbit, chicken, sheep or goat to be seen (may be on your plate for dinner). The farm has a few cows, to big for small children to play with.
The appartments are new, modern and large. A big plus! Ours had 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, large living room and balcony (without view).
Breakfast is in the main farm house. The farmers wife sometimes serves dinner (ask when and reserve in advance!) made with local ingredients. They serve good wines (€ 8 a bottle of 0.75 lt) and the pivo beer (€ 2.50 a big bottle)is not too bad either.
A bit disappointed in the farm and the weather we decided to leave earlier than booked and got a refund for the days we didn't spend at the farm.
P.S.: the farmer doesn't speak English, his German is poor but his Slovenian is perfect!
