a nice surprise Sep 29, 2004
When I don't have anything else to do, I usually visit the archeological museum wherever I am. I had expected the one in Poznan to contain just a few local finds, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The museum is quite large. There are a large number of well-explained exhibits on Poland (focusing on Wielkopolska, the province that Poznan is the capital of, and which has the oldest finds in Poland) from prehistory to the middle ages, as well as parts about Egypt and Sudan. I found the Sudan exhibit particularly interesting, but all of it was good.

Entrance is free on saturday.
