Powell's City of Books Reviews

Aug 07, 2007
This is one of the most amazing and cool places in Portland! Are you the type of person that likes to hang out in bookstores for hours while you sip a vanilla soy latte and browse? Well, this is a match made in heaven, then! This is the biggest bookstore I have ever been to in my life (it's a whole city block!)! They don't just have a poetry section or a top shelf dedicated to anthropology or ancient civilizations- they have rooms! HUGE MASSIVE ROOMS with thousands of books including rare, out of print, new, used, you name it! The prices are all very reasonable. This store is overwhelming. I spent the most time in the art section because the slection they had was simply incredible. They also have a large coffee shop where they serve a large variety of coffee, espresso drinks, teas and food.
