Off the radar little hotel Jun 29, 2010
So I stayed here cheap years ago when there was a whole lot less around. Luckily we found it again and it was still a good value. When you walk up you may be greeted by the little old Tica whose home this is. She has added on 3 apartment style rooms, one on the side and two out back, one ground floor and one right above it. As of the 2010 low season, 2 people paid $25 a night. When you go the rooms, everythings tiled and spotless. All rooms have a private bath with actual hot water (not the Tico death showers). The room has no AC, but a good ceiling fan and 2 large, pretty comfy beds. There are some shelves and a nightstand and that's about all there is in the room. You're about a 3 or 4 minute walk from the beach (down the dirt road and crossing the bridge) or local restaurants. You are also 1 minute from the gate to the park entrance (but you might also just like sneaking in the back door at about 4:30 or 5 PM by going to the beach and hanging a left, just a thought). The only downsides are the lack of internet and the construction going on for bigger flashier places to stay nearby, including next door's Villas Pratt, which was priced at $35 a night.
