Wonderful 10 days in Portugal: Lisbon, Sintra, Porto, Braga.

In the fall of 2004 I needed a change - there was only one answer: a roadtrip alone. I always wanted to see Alhambra and I just had to go for it. I ended up with 8600 km in just 2 weeks - and it was great.

A little island on the North/West of Africa. Perfect climate, very nice people, and spectacular views. A real tropical paradise!

For the two weeks I spent with Paul I was playing his beautiful flute each day, and after our parting I kept a look out for flutes thinking that I had to find one, that somewhere there would be a flute for me to take with me on my journey.

I've not been to this event before, in fact I'd not been to Portugal before, and I hadn't been camping for years. Also I'd never travelled with a group of so many friends ever. 30 of us from the local pub "The Roebuck" Northwich all grouped together to decend in this amazing annual gathering of motor bike fanatics and music rockers. Lisbon....so close and the same time so far....I have been living in Madrid (Spain) for the last year and lots of people says to me "Lisbon is very nice, haven't you gone yet?" and the answer was always "no, I think it's small and anyway you can go for a weekend". But I found a lucky sale for spending 4 marvelous days of my bank holidays at the beginning of May there. My first visit to amazing Azores :-). I went with my friend Hugo who is from Portugal, Lisbon and he guided my around the Island.The best happening was swimming with the dolphins

4 Days and 2 Nights in Lisboa: just perfect for a short trip, but as there are no shoe stores in Lisboa selling size 40 (UK 6.5, US 9) it's totally out of the question for a longer stay... :P j/k -> though I certainly could live of "pasteis" ;)

A beautifull place to see is Cabo de Sao Vincente, Algarve, Portugal. In the middle ages it was called "The end of the world". You've got a beautifull view over the sea. I have to say, i felt very little seeing this great view and knowing a lot of people stood there before me ages and ages ago.
