For me the most amazing thing about this part of the Italian Riviera are the fantastic homes clinging to the hillside overlooking the Mediteranean. The whole area smells like money, and lots of it. The beaches are terrible, no sand just pebbles and rocks, and the water is freezing. A terrific experience for me was walking 9 kilometres from Santa Margherita to Portofino, enjoying a wonderful lunch beside the beautiful harbour then taking the lazy option and catching the ferry back.

Parking is limited in town so you are better off to park outside! I did not know that so we were in a queue for about 1 hour before we were allowed to drive in. A trip to Italy, where I visited Verona, Rome, Rapallo, Porto Fino and the Cinque Terre

Spent a week (short!) in different parts of Italy, driving around, photographing and tasting some great wines. A beautiful country with friendly people and lots to see; Italy's not only Firenze, Rome and Milano - it's much more!

The wonderful Portofino

  This place is a real picturesque or scenic village! Beautiful! Sadly enough we have only photos of it on another camera, and we did not made some with the digital camera, Sorry! But you'l take my word for it, It's worth visiting!!!

Northern Italy is so diverse! You've got the beautiful mountains and long sandy beaches, fruitful Tuscany and lively towns!

A couple of friends and I decide to drive from Rome through the Italian and French Rivera and end our jouney in Paris. In less than a week. What a ride!

A collection of my travels while living in the UK. The dates are slightly out of order, but the photos should tell the stories! There are also some snaps that I took visiting the states, and some from trips after I moved back to Arizona. All future trips will be seperate from this blog and I'll be sure to add some journal entries at some point.

Some places I have been to in Europe...

The Peter Allen song starts "I've been to cities that never close down, New York and Rio and old London town" So I thought why not use the song to plan my trip? Add Tokyo and Lisbon, starting Dec 5. Include New years eve and Carnival in Rio and check the Iguazu falls from the Argentine side. My good friend Dave Wylie found me an apartment in Copacabana right near the beach, another good friend from my home in Surfers Paradise, Sudzie, said "hey mate I am coming with you to Rio".

As we were just about to emmigrate to NZ we decided to do a road trip around Europe camping, with Max our son who was just one years old at the time.
