Porto Scoutari Romantic Hotel Patmos

There were many stops during our trip to Greece, and we stayed in many hotels, but the Porto Scoutari Hotel in Patmos was my favorite, and the people there made it extra special. We arrived early, but there were no worries. Our poolside junior suite was ready for our 5-night stay, and our luggage was already being carried to our room. The lobby was cozy, and the desk clerk was wonderful as she showed us to our suite.

Our room was perfectly clean upon arrival, and the quaint little bathroom was well stocked with luxurious bath towels and sweet smelling soaps. In our room, there was a beautiful hardwood four poster canopy bed with fresh soft linens, and there was even a set of matching bathrobes in the closet. The room had a large flat screen TV, and a sign that said they also offered broadband internet service. Even though the building and the furniture had an antique appearance, everything seemed to be in excellent working order. The hotel is well maintained. Our showers and a/c in our room worked fine. Unfortunately, my husband likes to keep the room cold at night when we travel, and the air conditioner worked so well I had to get an extra blanket!

My favorite part of our stay at the Porto Scoutari hotel were our intimate breakfasts of crepe’s and fruit by the pool. The huge crystal clear swimming pool was just outside our room, and we took full advantage of it each morning while we waited for breakfast. Patmos is a beautiful city, but we honestly spent most of our time at the hotel because of how wonderful it was. The people at the spa and the hotel staff really go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need, and that is what taking a holiday is all about.

My wife and I stayed with the Porto Scoutari Hotel which is known as one of the top 20 most romantic hotels on the planet. If you get a chance to make this trip, the Porto Scoutari Hotel is amazing and well worth the price of admission. I realize that hotels have many guests with many demands, but this hotel made us feel like we were the only ones staying with them. They were efficient, friendly and courteous when taking care of our needs. The Porto Scoutari is located on a hilltop which offers you some of the most breath taking views of the Meloi Bay. The rooms are very nice and offer all of the conveniences of home (a very nice home). The hotel offers verandas, a bar and a pool like most, but the detail is outstanding with beautiful landscaping including olive trees. I felt like I was in a paradise and actually looked forward to returning to my quarters after a day of sightseeing. The Porto Scoutari also has a full service spa which my wife took full advantage of.
During our stay on Patmos we took in the sights in three of the villages on the island. The first stop was between the city of Hora and Skala to the “The Sacred Grotto” where John the Evangelist wrote the book of Revelations.
Overall, our trip to Patmos was one of our best vacations yet. The Porto Scoutari Hotel & Spa took excellent care of us and I definitely recommend them if you are thinking about visiting the islands. Personally, I could spend weeks on the island taking the history and culture. We will be making a return trip in the near future.
