Nothing like New England in the autumn! Hailing from the West Coast, I decided that fall was the best time to go because on the West Coast there are two seasons; warm and chilly. So I was excited to see a real fall, who wouldn’t be?
Chip has been really great at h…

I love Maine. I really do. This was such a bittersweet weekend. Home to see my friends..... and ran into old HS friends. But realizing I'm not coming home any time soon.... not to live anyway. Maine is so beautiful. I was disappointed I did not get alot of scenic…

We pulled out of the parking lot at the Lower Falls stop and proceeded west. We had about another 10 minutes until we came to the end of the Kanc and after that the end of New Hampshire. It was a little hard to believe all of the ground we had covered, and the things we had seen. But, now we were f…

We awoke to a beautiful day. While we had no great hopes for Portland, we found it to be a delightful town. I got some great photos as we entered the harbor. We were off the ship by about 9:30 and walked along the waterfront. Evaluating a number of options, we bought tickets for a lighthouse tour b…

SEPT 3
Pretty much a complete washout today. I drove down south of Portland in the Cape Elizabeth area and stopped out at a few lighthouses along the coast. But it was cool, windy, and raining, to such an extent that I wasn't in the mood to do much hiking or the like. Finally got…

Maine, USA -› Bar Harbor, Maine, USA -› …
Me and some of my friends went on a vacation to Maine. We mostly stayed in Bar Harbor, but we also went to Portland and Boothbay. We had a great time. People were very nice. The one thing I noticed about Maine was how clean it was. Most of the time you didn't ever see a cigarette butt on the ground. It was a little expensive for food in some of the towns. But the views of the land were worth ever second. It was a very beautiful place to go. I recommend it to anyone.

The day before we headed up to Bar Harbor, I drove from New Jersey all through southern New England. I went all the way over to Cape Cod during the day because I had never been there before. Then I drove up through Boston that night to pick my mother up from the airport in Manchester, N…

There is more than one Portland - and this one is on the opposite side of a whole continent in the very north - Portland, Maine. But despite this geographical discrepancy, the two Portlands actually have a lot of things in common, which I got to enjoy while attending a conference in July 2007.

Boston is my favorite city, and I should live there, but I can't afford it. So I just go there a lot, instead. I've been there often enough that it no longer feels like a vacation, so I try to venture away from the city more and more.
