hot diggity dog! Mar 14, 2009
Portillo's is what I like to call, upscale fast food.... its as cheap as the republican party in alabama, as fast as a chicago political scandal, and is nice enough to take your mother too.

Portillo's has two main zones, you got the lunch area with like the hot dogs (best in chicago), italian beef (the chicago equivalent to the philly cheese steak, endorsed by Barak Obama FYI), burgers, the italian beef croissant, and the polish sausage, along with other lunch type things, that will surely make your LDL cholesteral go up. You can get a delicious meal a sort walk from michegan avenue for 5 to 6 bucks. (I spent 5.69 today)

The other half is like your dinner stuff that you can take your grandma too and she'll be pleased, its got your classic ribs, pizza, salads, stuff like that, all at a reasonable price. This section will cost you about 12 bucks a person.

The decor is pretty historic, for example the one located in the Gold Coast has the stanley cup banner from 1936 when the Blackhawks actually won it, so this place is a must for sports fanatics. (and is across the street from the unofficial chicago sports hall of fame).

Well I can't talk anymore, or I'll go walk across the street and hit the place up.... and the doctor don't want that! Also they sell good beer (Sam Adams) for 4 bucks a pint, not bad at all eh?
italian beef, onions, and beer..
portillos on St.Patricks day...

A Chicago institution that can't be misse Mar 16, 2008
Simply put the best Hot Dogs in the city. Portillo's Barrinellis is the restaurant to go to if you want a perfect Chicago meal while expriancing great family atmostpher Each restaurant has it's own personality with some decked out to look like you are back in Al Capone's Chicago and others (like the one in Shaumburg...looking like you stepped back into the 60's but. Now many of the Portillo's restaurants have joined with another Barrinellis so wherether you are craving a famous hotdog or a dellisous plate of pasta or perhaps just the perfect cesar salad you will have your craving stated here. This is one restaurant that no one visiting Chicago should miss. My personal favorite order is an Italian beef with extra sweet peppers dipped...or as my mom would like to say wet, wet, wet. It's a mess to eat but so good it's not long before you will have finished it anyway. And of course don't forget an order of french fries with cheese and a milk shake. *sigh* my mouth waters just thinking about it.
