    I got to the airport, checked in, and paid my departure tax (about $64 US!) then went through security as normal. The international terminal has lots of shops on airside, but not cash machines. Spent many months visiting Trinidad and other Carribean countries, whilst visiting family

Everyone told me that this was a 3rd world country and instantly I came up with images of dispare and poverty in my mind. In some cases the images were correct but what I found was just people trying to live life the best they can. I can say that I enjoyed my trip to Georgetown thanks in part to the people in the office down there. They definately made the trip fun.

After a week back home, I am back in Port of Spain for the Disaster Management Committee of the Caribbean meeting.  Been keeping an eye on the storm activity out in the Atlantic as well, as we are entering the heigth of Hurricane Season.  Lets hope for a nice quite season!!! J
