Port Renfrew is a town on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, located approximately 2 hours drive west of Victoria, British Columbia at 48°33′31″N, 124°23′57″W.

Port Renfrew is the western terminus of the Juan de Fuca Trail.

Port Renfrew is also the southern end of the West Coast Trail, a world famous hiking trail built in 1907 along the west coast of Vancouver Island to save ship wrecked sailors.

Originally named Port San Juan, the settlers changed the name to honor Lord Renfrew who planned to settle crofters here. The name was changed due to mail being sent to the San Juan Islands instead of Port San Juan. Like many coastal Vancouver Island communities, Port Renfrew has a rich history in forestry and fishing. In recent years, Port Renfrew has become increasingly reliant on tourism; local natural attractions include the West Coast Trail, Juan de Fuca Trail and Botanical Beach. Port Renfrew is considered some of the best salmon and halibut fishing in North America. There is also excellent Kayaking and Birding.

Where am I going ... I know it's called Botanical beach but I have no idea what to expect ... I try to keep my excitement in ... bad enough having nieces and nephews getting 'loud' let alone me ... but the ride there wasn't exactly quiet for I was pressing the camera every second.  When I was relaxing I shut the camera off and then I'd see something beautiful and pressed the button and felt "I missed the shot" for in my excitement I forgot I turned off the camera ... I'm so concerned wit...

I am a pilot, so by definition I travel. A lot. I have been to every state in the Union, most of Cannukistan, all over the Carribean, some in Mexico, and a few other spots - and that is just for work!
