Port Of New Orleans Reviews
Relatively Easy Process Jan 16, 2013
Driving to the port of New Orleans was rather easy. It's located off I-10, near the French Quarter. Signs for the terminal are clearly marked and easy to follow. Our terminal was the Erato Street Terminal. We had stayed in the French Quarter the night before and between the valet's directions, the GPS, and the signs, we found the entrance easily.
For our five-day cruise, the parking fee was $80, paid upon entering the garage. Then, luggage is dropped off on the level after the entrance ramp. Porters are readily available to take luggage to the ship. Ours also asked to see our passports, not for identification purposes, but for assurance they weren't packed away in luggage. Of course, he didn't leave the carside until we gave him a small tip for his help.
It is suggested to back into the parking space, which we did. It is garage parking, so the cars are out of the elements (which turned out to be good for us; thunderstorms and tornado watches rolled through New Orleans while we were gone).
We had a ten-hour drive to get to the port of New Orleans, but I would do it again. It's an easy port to get to, and the process was rather easy, as well.
