Don't forget to bring a camera for the amazing flower displays in the Namaqualand from August to October. The Diamond coast has lured geologists, adventurers and fortune seekers for over a century. Many of the gem quality diamonds remain buried deep under the desert sands while other must be dived out of the sea. Visit this area, and you will step into a past that is rich in history, heartache and wayward romance - maybe you will even pick up something shiny on the beach… Port Nolloth Backpackers is situated in a renovated beach house in the suburb of McDougal Bay - 4 km's south of the main town. We are a stones throw from the beach and have the most incredible seaview deck - perfect for sundowners. The backpackers lodge has a comfortable lounge with satelite TV, spacious indoor and outdoor dining area's, in and outdoor BBQ's, etc. The accommodation is all spacious and airy. Our tap water is drinkable and parking in McDougals bay is arguably the safest in South Africa.
