Port Jefferson Vacation Guide

Port Jefferson is an incorporated village on the North Shore of Long Island, NY. It is about 50 miles east of New York City, in Suffolk County. The Port Jefferson Ferry runs back and forth across the Long Island Sound to Bridgeport, CT. The Ferry takes a little over an hour.

Route 25 passes by the village in its entirety, forming a T with Main Street, which becomes Route 112 outside of the Village.
On Main Street, you can find many little shops and cafes, as well as a few historic buildings and churches. Every first weekend of December, the village hosts the Dickens Festival, and every summer they have outdoor concerts.

Port Jefferson is also a popular destination for motorcycle riders and bikers, especially during the summer.
Parking can difficult in Port Jefferson because of recently incurred fees.
