Port Douglas is a beautiful place, one of the nicest towns in Australia. There are lovely beaches close at hand with good swimming. Many interesting cafes and bars are on the main street where good food and drink and entertainment can be enjoyed. The climate is perfect - tropically hot.
If you travel out to sea you immediatly reach the great Barrier Reef. If you travel north you will reach a rainforest this is a 'MUST' to see! It is so great!

We got to the marina at 9am and got our tickets at the QuickSilver's ticket centre. They are the largest company to take people out to the reef. The boat was by far the largest on the ma...

Port Douglas is a lovely tropical boutique town about 1 hours drive north of Cairns via a spectacular coastal road. Port has lovely beaches, boutique shops, restaurants and is closer to the Great Barrier Reef than Cairns! We spent 3 days here and while in Port we spent a fantastic day diving out on the reef with Poseidon Adventures. We spent another day at the nearby Mossman Gorge a gorgeous fresh water gorge set in the rainforest and a great place to swim.
