Confederate civil war museum Sep 07, 2010
Port columbus is located off of Victory drive in Columbus Georgia. right on the banks of the Chattahoochee river. Its purpose is to teach the history of the confederate navy as at one time Columbus was a properous port and textiel manufaturer for the confederate states. Here you can find some interesting artifacts and information on the history of the confederate navy, they even have a few boats that have been "restored" for your viewing pleasure. walkign around the museum takes roughly an hour and you can learn some amazing facts about the history of the southern navy and what they did to help run the northern blockade. Defintiely a must see when in Columbus
