Great Seafood Portside May 03, 2008
Chef Larry at the Port Bistro in Ilwaco has created an amazingly good seafood at the Ilwaco Port. Just one word of warning -- the chef is highly allergic to colognes and perfumes and asks that you not wear any fragrances when you visit his restaurant!

I went to the Port Bistro as part of a 27 person wedding celebration dinner. Although it was a fixed menu with limited options, the dinner was flawless and delicious. I had the clam chowder (Rated No. 1 on the Washington Coast) and it was so delicious. Whole clams in their shells were all over the top of the chowder and it was accompanied by artisan bread made fresh at the restaurant (they are very well known for their breads). My entree was a salmon steak over fingerling potatoes with dungeness crab meat. I had a nice pinot noir with it and it paired extremely well. The menu looked excellent, although I was not able to have anything off the menu. What I did have though was excellent.
