This leg of our trip was to be the longest we have travelled in any
single day, a total of 535 kilometres. Since we had crossed into South
Australia yesterday the speed limits are now 110 Kilometres per hour in
most areas, but this seems really slow after travelling without speed
restrictions for the last week or so while in the Northern Territory.
As we stepped out of the room today it suddenly seemed cold and there
was a wind ripping through the air and us. This wind followed us the

Another big day in the car. We go out for dinner as the weather is still very windy and unpleasant.
The next day we do the Pichi-Richi train ride - a lovely old steam engine - our 5th train ride for the trip. The boys laugh every time the train whistle.

The trip to Port Augusta was again quite boring apart from the few wild animals that we finally saw, and the lakes we passed by. There are a lot of salt lakes in this area, but also a few with water with some wonderful names such as Lake Hart and Lake Younghusband. There were not many stops along the way either, and most of the ones that were there had no toilet facilities. That was one of the main problems in this state South Australia, the other being the signposting. The amount of times we…

Finally figured out the purpose of the stubby holders. they're not for keeping the beer cold on a warm day, they're there to keep your hands warm at night!

a map and some photos of my slightly unplanned trip around the world. The map outlines the general route I took, not counting the backtracking and double visits.
Currently I am scanning some photos of this trip, but be patient, there are a lot of them!
Argentina - Chile - Easter Island - French Polynesia - New Zealand - Australia - Bali - Hong Kong - Macau - Singapore

The final stop before Adelaide was Port Augusta. Apparently this is a major point of interest - as for more than a few, this was their final destination - but at 1am, the rest of us weren't allowed to depart.
I found it interesting that as we transitioned from WA to SA, that the time change was +90 minutes. I'm not sure I can ever remember daylight savings and/or a time zone change being a non-full hour increment. Odd.

My trip with Adi and Uols around the world. We booked our flights and left without a plan what to do and where to go.
