This is a must-do stop for me whenever I'm in New York City. Once I had a craving for these fries while I was a party at the B-Bar in the same neighbourhood. I left the party and came back 10 minutes later with a large size frites hidden in my jacket. They're that good. Truly.
My favourite sauces are the mayonaisse, curry ketchup, and the war sauce?. --------------- Now, if you're on the West Coast and craving belgian fries, you can try Frjtz (http://www.frjtzfries.com; 570 Hayes St.), a new-ish chain in San Francisco. I tried the fries at the Hayes Valley location and was a bit disappointed because I was expecting Pommes Frites. Frjtz has a similar menu, including a wide variety of dipping sauces, so seeing this only whetted my appetite. As I said, these Frjtz aren't NYC's Pommes Frites, but after I got over that, I enjoyed them just the same. The Hayes Valley location is set up as a cute art cafe that, besides serving frites has coffee, sandwiches, crepes, and salads. So, even if you don't like their fries, you might find something you do like. A bonus for TravBuddies: the Flight 001 is on the same street. A Valencia Street location (in the Mission) is set to open soon. Or, if you happen to be in Washington, D.C. and want some real Belgian food and frites, stop by Belga Cafe (http://www.belgacafe.com/; 514 8th St., SE). |

This hole in the wall is awesome! Especually after a night of drinking! Not only do they give you a lot of fries for your money, you get 25 options to dip your fries in!! Did I mention the tables have holes to fit the fries!!! Could it get any better than that? I think not!
