Pollard park is a long established Park created along a small but rushing stream. There are several very attractive bridges crossing this winding stream, where you can watch the ducks swimming and diving in the shallow waters, you can feed these ducks with bread and many people bring children here to do just that.
There are hundreds of large mature trees most of which are deciduous giving the lovelyiest display of Autumn tints specially attractive reflected in the stream and the ponds along the stream. There is a New Zealand Native garden section with some rare and unusual plants that are not often seen in the forest any more, wild native birds enjoy the sorce of food and sing in the trees. Evening brings a new display, many colourful lights have been placed by the local power company, to highlight the nicest trees and the bridges and fountains. A pleasant place to just stroll and to smell the roses; as there is a large rose garden with nearly every variety of rose growing, plus a large camilia and rhodadenron collection, so these gardens are lovely at all times of the year; and free to visit any time. |
