Something about Krakow, cant put it into words. But it is one of the most amaizing city to live in. I spent a year teaching English there. And it was one of the hardest decisions i've ever had to make to leave that place. More photos to come.

January 4Finally later today Olga (HC: Olia) has arrived in Warsaw and I'm moving to her place for the coming days. She was at her family in Minsk for the holiday and just came back. We had got in touch through HC and it was good. So finally I spent the day quiet at Wojtek still talking and so and letting him know that I would intend to leave because I was starting to feel weird as I had been there for already several days. But still it was really cool, but I was looking forward to move up and…

Welcome to my Poland experience. It was great! I know this trip took place last year, but I had to add it. My group and I were there for about a week and it was beautiful. We visited Auschwitz and Birkenau. It was like stepping into a history book.

I was supposed to start the next day very early in the morning or better said - in the night at 2 o'clock. In the evening i was going to gas station and i 'felt' that something wrong was with my car. I got off, had look at the wheels, but everything seemed to be ok.When i was back home - like 22.00 i had another feeling, like 'must' to check the tires again... and i was right - one of them was without any air:/// (#$#%$%@@$#@$@$%@!!!!!!!). wyruszamy

I don't remember if I've mentioned this in an earlier entry, but even if I have, it bears repeating.  For the two months prior to the start of the contest, they had no rain and temps in the 90's (Farenheit that is).  It is now day 8 of flying and we are a frustrating 8 pilots short of finishing the second flight.  Though we made great progress this morning (Flyboy and the rest of the US team finished their flights) the clouds and then rain rolled in about 1 PM and we have been …

Leaving Warsaw
posted by:
Nov 08, 2007 - Nov 28, 2007
Postage Stamps   Postage Stamps are another kind of traveller, bearers of tidings from one country to the next, making their way across towns, states, countries and international borders, while carrying a small sample of the sender’s culture, heritage, political system or current events.  The use of the postage stamp as a miniature work of art in itself is relatively recent.     One artist who made a notable contribution to this was Friedensreich Hundertwasser, …

Round 4 of my European trips...This trip was definetly unexpected. Was on the verge of switching jobs when I decided to take myself a nice month break between jobs. Bought my ticket a week before I left and off I went. Visited so many great places, Belgium, Holland, France, Czech Republic, and my home away from home Poland. Met some unbelievable people, and just had the time of my life. Might possibly have been the best trip ever lol.

WELCOME TO AUSCHWITZ Poem by Mike Subritzky (1998)"Welcome to Auschwitz." The survivor said. A paradox really, he's a Christian and his name is Stanislaus. I step down from the bus and blink into the kaleidoscope of a dappled morning sunlight. Nothing has changed! It is all still there! Just like the photographs taken by the Home Army. No bodies, but the awful presence of death, enormous death, 10 kilometres of death Auschwitz 1 - A Slave Labour Camp Auschwitz 2 - A Death Camp Auschw…
