It's 5.15 o'clock. Let's go! I'm late for about 15 minutes (i wanted start at 5 o'clock), but i maybe manage it to the 7.21 train. I drow my little lovelly Astra to Berlin airport - it was saturday morning so the traffic was almost none - i managed it from home to Berlin in two hours and something with just a one stop for pee and eat some sandwiches which i prepared by myself (how smart! lol) for the journey. I drove this way for the seventh or eighth time this year so i almost know every tre...

During my last week of finals, I was so tired of school and my room that I was somehow forced to stay all the days, that I was ready to go anywhere as soon as my last exam was over. And so on the next evening me and my best friend were sitting in the train on our way to Zakopane, which is on the other side of Poland from the place I live in. Although we had to travel 13 hours by train, then half an our by bus, then we had 2 hour long walk to get to our hostel, we were both happy about upcomin...

We oversleept so we had Aleks poking us on our stomachs on the morning, telling us to get up. I really wasn't ready with my bags and stuff so I don't remember where I put my mobile. We rushed to the trainstation to catch our train that left at 9:30. At the train I started to panic about my mobile phone, really. My mobile is like my second best friend, I have everything in it. It really sounds pathetic, but I know that many of u r the same, but u'r to ashamed to confess it! :PAnyways, while we...

Coming to Poland from Scandanavia (via London) is possible the greatest
feeling ever. This must be how Californians felt in the 90s when
they started moving to Arizona. Or like the first week of getting
paid after college. It's ridiculous! I visited the ATM at
the airport and got my cash in 100 zloty
bills, a little over 30 US dollars each. I then was yelled at on
the shuttle to the city because the 30 minute ride costs only 4.20 zl
and the driver had to ...

I woke up (slightly hungover) with a few hours to spare until my train to Warsaw. I thought I'd visit the Wawel Castle which was stunning! It was very quiet as it wasn't the right time of year for tourists but that was suprisingly a good thing as it made it stress free. I spent my morning there exploring the castle & cathedral & I also took in the stunning views of the city, until it was time for me to go to the train station. As I had discovered that...

Me and Louise had a fantastic week in Krakow, our views and perceptions had completely changed and we were both so happy that we had visited Krakow, we were only sad that we werent staying for longer. The hostel owners sorted out transport back to the airport for us, our flight was at 11.30am, it was a scorching hot summers day, blue skies with no clouds, it was so beautiful.
We had to queue for quite a while for check in at the British Airways desk, the airport is really small! it was funny...

One day my Norwegian friend Inga ( I met her in a summer school in England) wrote to me that there are really cheap tickets to Gdańsk beeing sold and that she bought one and is flying to Poland (because of this there were more Norwegian than Polish people in this city at that time;) seriously, hehe). I haven't seen her for 10 years and I have never been to Gdańsk so I thought:"Brilliant, I am going to meet Inga in Gdańsk, why not?". And there I was...
When I saw Inga I was surprised...

Leaving Warsaw by car requires better navigation and orientation skills than I possess... Funny, because I can get oriented just fine when scuba diving or hiking in the mountains somewhere, but leaving this city is always an interesting adventure! I'm sure that as my Polish gets better I'll do fine, but for now the positive aspect of this is that it gives me the opportunity to get to know all sorts of interesting - and not-so-interesting suburbs! Actually, I did pretty ...

I was planning on flying to Warsaw on Thursday March 1 but there were severe thunderstorms in the Midwest that day. Besides that, my friends flight from Seattle to Chicago was delayed beyond making the connection to the LOT flight bound for Warsaw.
I was going to Warsaw for the grand opening of the Hard Rock Cafe.
I changed the date to Thursday March 16 and even though my friend could not make it this time, I went anyway. The flights to Chicago that day were all look...

It was a pretty big hell to drive over 600km. We drove through Latvia without a stop so it was quick but while being in Lithuania we were forced to make some stops.Crossing the Poland-Lithuanian border was a bit like hell. There were very many drucks and I seriously think if we wouldn't have that great driver we would have stayed there for few days :DNow for Suwalki. It's a pretty pleasant small town near border. There are lots of churches! Some houses seemed to be in pretty bad condition... ...

Another early morning as we had the longest bus ride of the trip today; 269 miles. The wakeup call was supposed to be at 6am but instead was at 5:45am. It may not seem like that big of a deal but I like that extra 15 minutes. lol We quickly used the free internet at the hotel and had just as quick a breakfast with the bus leaving at 7am. The beginning of the drive wasn't too scenic with it looking like the PA turnpike back home. Most of the scenery was flat and at times with lots of trees.&nb...

If there’s any ‘middle of nowhere’, ‘off the beaten track’, ‘where the hell are we?’, ‘what a s**hole’ place!!" I wanna know about it J I’m a great fan of non-touristy towns and villages. As authentic as one can get :)
No wonder that last weekend you could find me in one of the deserted, touristless regions of Poland - one of the last bastions of the authentic living -Roztocze.
This far far (south) east province (close to the boarder with Ukrai...

I came to Ania to pick her, then we drove to Zawada to the 'Dabiachy' left my car and got into theirs, so that we could be a bit 'green' and save our planet from the unnecessairy polution:). We didn't drove stright to the place, cuz we didn't know where it exactly was and we had to take some stuff from another mate - our union boss:) anyway. But finally we arrived. Of course it was the wrong beach, so after a call and some explanation we got it and found the place. Miras was waiting for us. We...

Once upon a time, but it was fun. Of course for someone who likes hikes. I don't remember all the details (besides who would like to read about constant walking) so I will just add some photos. 8-15 August. I went there with my classmates... and their mates...The Wang Temple/ Skalny Stol/ Sniezka (twice)/ Western city and other places...
