Vitre takes the prize for being the little
town of nowhere of all time! RB warned
me that there’s nothing there but...! It
has a château that is nothing but stone walls.
The town has 2 churches and maybe 15 shops and 5 restaurants, and sleazy
local who yells “are you ready to rock?” to tourists. Anyway, on the positive side, the food is
cheap and the public toilet is free.
After all these small towns, I’m ready to go back to the city!!!

i arrived on time into poitiers and was amazed at the french transport system-clean, on time nothing like at home.
my dad, mam and oliver came to pick me up and we headed off to le carlet which is around a 40 mins drive. it was nice to see 'presh' again after 5 weeks. i had 5 weeks of torment to make up for :o)
the time spent here was all about relaxing and taking it easy.
we all had a day trip to the monkey park which was good. me and my sister got cornered by some cheek...

I have been too fortunate to stay in Europe for almost a year. Mostly posted in France, I've enjoyed most of the sights of the Western Europe and I am certain that I'll come back to many of these places.

DAY 21
Friday 29th June
Left St Denis at 8am to sail to Royan. Sailed the whole way for 8 hours on a broad reach ( with the wind coming from the side for ignoramuses like me). JC’s culinary tastes continue to amaze; breakfast was baked beans mixed with crisps and lunch was mashed up sardines mixed with cornflakes!!
Question: If you have an entire ocean to aim at, how many goes will it take to throw a banana skin into the sea as opposed to hitting the boat?
Writing this in Royan marina ...

Hi everyone. Sorry about the delay in updating our blog. Been away from the internet for a while. Will upload some photos in the next few days. Until then just chat.
We started the day by vistiting Mont-St-Michel. It is fantastic. A huge abbey, church and town set out off teh coast of Brittany on a rock. It was great walking up all the stairs and looking around. Google it to see how magnificent it actually looks. Was fun for Cam to carry Ashley around all day as well. From here we hit t...
