Pointe de Penhir, Brittany (France) - Camaret - TravBuddy

There are many beautiful steep and rocky coasts in Brittany. Pointe de Penhir is one of my favourites. It is located in the western part of the Crozon peninsula close to the village Camarat-sur-mer (the village is also known for the "Tour Vauban", a historical fortification).

Pointe de Penhir consists of steep rugged rock formations. Height of the cliff is about 70 m. The view is spectacular. The five "tas de pois" (pea islands) are wihtin one's reach. On bright days you can easily spot the other capes of the Crozon peninsula like Pointe de Dinan, Cap de la Chevre und Pointe des Espagnols. If the view is clear even Pointe du Raz may be visible in the distance.
Compared with the much more famous Pointe du Raz the Camaret area is not so overcrowded.
