Poffertjes Puncak Reviews
Poffertjes Puncak Apr 22, 2011
If you happen to go to Puncak or pass Puncak on your way to Bogor, Cianjur, Bandung, Jakarta, etc. It is worth to have break on one of poffertjes stalls at Puncak pass, like we did. It was 2 in the morning, we were on our way to Gunung Padang (Cianjur). The weather was nice cool—warm for Puncak pass standard. My friend joke, “so..which stall..poppertjes, foffertjes, poppercis..?” from the line of stalls, many mis spell poffertjess as poppertjes or foffertjes or poppercis and many possible else, enjoy the mis spell when you happen to be here :). We chose one stall, place ourselves on “lesehan” (carpet and low table) next to windows with city light view. We ordered roasted corns, roasted banana, coffee milk, “bandrek” milk (bandrek: traditional sundanese beverage made of ginger, palm sugar, and many other ingredients), and of course a portion of poffertjes.
First time eat here, I ordered a portion of poffertjes for myself, I thought it will be usual portion of poffertjes—several small butter balls—but it is not, a portion is 7 butter balls size of 6 cm, and definitely for sharing. I also shocked with their pancake portion, thick pancake size of dinner plate, and not my favourite, and will not order on my next visit here. But I love the poffertjes, I love its deep fried crispy outside with dusted sugar and soft buttery on center. So, it’s really unfortunate, that tonight we landed on wrong stall, they served raw in the middle poffertjes, and roasted raw banana. Maybe I need to start tagging which stalls are recommended.
Price: splurge (less than IDR 15.000 per menu)
