New Dig For An Old Favorite Sep 13, 2008
A longtime Smithville favorite, recently moved from it's small, but charming Main Street local, Pockets Grille now has a new open and covenient location. Covered outdoor patio, complete with a small stage for musicians, a wrap-around porch for socializing and an airy, country inspired dining area make this a great place for family or to meet friends. They even managed to bring some of old Smithville with them. Restored signage from Smithville landmarks are displayed overhead: Honey's Diner, Cherry Hill Dance Hall and The Book-Nook. The one thing that hasn't changed is the great food! Scads of burger choices, sandwiches, quesadillas, salads, pizzas and various other munchies can be found. I got the Texas Jack. A 1/3 pound burger with pepperjack cheese, bacon, grilled onions and hickory sauce. You can even load your own fixin's from the 1961 Ford Galaxie Burger Bar Trunk! I accompanied my burger with an small order of onion rings (plenty to share) and a Shiner Black Bohemien Lager. There are plenty of beer choices and lime margaritas too! What a good, filling meal. I definately recommend you stop by for a bite the next time you're tooling around Smithville. Enjoy!
