Odd, hole in the wall place, where adults can act like kids Feb 01, 2009
My family and I first visited this place in 1999. It is a dinner theater of sorts. The plays that are typically performed are written by local writers. They have an occasional musical, an occasional drama, a few comedies, but they are mostly known for their melodramas. The melodramas with such titles as "The Attack of The Killer Mutant Leeches" and Trailer Trash From Outer Space," are usually very corny but entertaining too. During these famed melodramas, the audience is given baskets of popcorn. You are then permitted to throw the popcorn at the actors/actresses, the wait staff, the people you came with, or even the strangers at the table next to you. There is nothing like see a bunch of adults engaged in a serious battle with people they have never met by launching hand fulls of popcorn at each other. If you have small kids, it's probably best not to take them, as most of the shows are PG-13 rated and sometimes R. There are often time innueundos that are not appropriate for little ones. If you are looking for a serious theatrical performance this is not usually the best place to go. The theater is small and only seats around 150, so if you are interested in going make reservations ahead of time. During December, the last twenty something years, they perform a musical adaptation of Charles Dickens a Christmas Carol (no it is not a comedy or a play to throw popcorn in). It is well done and the man that plays Scrooge is quite good!

Great review! Saturday night (9:00 pm and 11 pm shows) is usually comedy night - from improv, skits to stand ups. Good times!
